Power Structured Analytical Writing (SAW) - Advanced Level (P5 - S3)
Structured Analytical Writing (SAW) is the first phase in advancing towards academic writing. By being exposed to different styles of writing through short excerpts, students learn step-by-step methods of writing expositions and essays. Various themes, such as English literature concepts and critical thinking skills have been incorporated into this course to help students to prepare for Hong Kong and International examinations: Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE), Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (A-Levels), General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE), International Baccalaureate (IB), and Advanced Placement (AP). Students will be confident in formulating, presenting and defending objective arguments. They will also learn to support their opinions with facts and evidence which will guide them to think critically, analytically and objectively.
At the end of each module, students will be able to meet with the teacher for an individual consultation to discuss areas of improvement in their writing. Structured Analytical Writing is designed to challenge and expand students' horizons, helping them meet their academic potential and preparing them for higher level learning.
Teacher:
Ms Mominah graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences major in Psychology. Prior to joining Power Elite English Learning Centre, she has worked in various learning centres across Hong Kong teaching different age groups phonics, reading, grammar, and writing courses.
Ms Mominah works hard to help her students to find ways to identify and overcome their learning barriers so as to reach their full potential. She loves seeing her students progress and become more confident in their English.
